Its budget of \u20ac14.7 billion will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain experience, and volunteer abroad.<\/p>\n<p>Set to last until 2020, Erasmus+ doesn&#8217;t just have opportunities for students. Merging seven prior programmes, it has opportunities for a wide variety of individuals and organisations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Individuals: Erasmus+ has opportunities for people of all ages, helping them develop and share knowledge and experience at institutions and organisations in different countries.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Organisations: Erasmus+ has opportunities for a wide range of organisations, including universities, education and training providers, think-tanks, research organisations, and private businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of Erasmus+ is to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for growth, jobs, social equity and inclusion, as well as the aims of ET2020, the EU&#8217;s strategic framework for education and training. Erasmus+ also aims to promote the sustainable development of its partners in the field of higher education, and contribute to achieving the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Specific issues tackled by the programme include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reducing unemployment, especially among young people<\/li>\n<li>Promoting adult learning especially for new skills and skills required by the labour market.<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging young people to take part in European democracy<\/li>\n<li>Supporting innovation, cooperation and reform<\/li>\n<li>Reducing early school leaving<\/li>\n<li>Promoting cooperation and mobility with the EU\u2019s partner countries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More information can be found in:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/erasmus-plus\/about_en\">http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/erasmus-plus\/about_en<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Erasmus+ is the EU&#8217;s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.
