Dr. Vassilios Argyropoulos is Associate Professor in the Special Education Department of the University of Thessaly. He has participated in national and international projects in the area of special educational and he also runs as a coordinator a number of projects pertinent to research and training in the field of visual impairment and special education as well. He has more than 50 national and international publications (journal papers and proceedings). He also serves the International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairments (ICEVI) as the contact person in Balkan Countries. He holds BSc in Mathematics from the University of Patras and a PhD in Education from the University of Birmingham. His thesis shaped an integrated picture of the development of geometrical concepts among children with severe visual impairments. His research areas include Education and inclusion of students with visual disability, issues of accessibility in academic and physical environments, the braille code, literacy in the education of students who are visually impaired, universal design, differentiated instruction and differentiated curricula.
